Endüstri 4.0 çağında stratejik teknoloji yönetimi: Yükselen yıkıcı teknolojiler etkisi

Abstract

Endüstri 4.0, dijitalleşme, otomasyon ve yapay zekâ gibi teknolojilerin sanayi süreçlerine entegre edilmesiyle, işletmelerin rekabet etme biçimlerini köklü bir şekilde değiştiren bir dönüşüm çağını ifade etmektedir. Bu yeni çağda, Stratejik Teknoloji Yönetimi (STY) teknolojiyi stratejik bir kaynak olarak ele alarak, işletmenin iş hedefleriyle uyumlu bir teknoloji politikası oluşturmayı ve bu politikayı etkin bir şekilde uygulamayı gerektirmektedir. Yükselen ve Yıkıcı Teknolojiler (YYT) (Emerging and Disruptive Technologies - EDT), mevcut iş modellerini, ürünleri ve hizmetleri tamamen değiştirme potansiyeline sahip yeniliklerdir. Örneğin, Yapay Zekâ (Artificial Intellligence- AI), Nesnelerin İnterneti (Intrenet of Things - IoT), 5G, Blok Zincir (Blockchain), ve Artırılmış Gerçeklik (Augmented Reality - AR) gibi teknolojiler Endüstri 4.0 çağında yıkıcı teknolojiler olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Bu teknolojilerin ortaya çıkışı, işletmelerin sadece operasyonel süreçlerini değil, aynı zamanda stratejik karar alma mekanizmalarını da derinden etkilemektedir. Endüstri 4.0 çağında, bu stratejik bakış açısı, işletmelerin yükselen ve yıkıcı teknolojilere uyum sağlaması ve bu teknolojilerin sunduğu fırsatları ve riskleri değerlendirebilmesi için sürdürülebilir rekabet avantajı elde edebilmeleri açısından kritik öneme sahiptir. Yükselen ve yıkıcı teknolojilerin stratejik teknoloji yönetimi, geleneksel yaklaşımlardan farklı olarak, daha proaktif, inovasyona dayalı, iş birliğine açık ve esnek stratejiler geliştirilmesini ve uygulanmasını gerektirir. Bu teknolojiler, işletmelerin sadece rekabet avantajı elde etmesini sağlamakla kalmaz, aynı zamanda iş yapış biçimlerini ve iş modellerini kökten değiştirme potansiyeline de sahiptir. Bu nedenle, firmaların yıkıcı teknolojilere yönelik stratejik yaklaşımları hem iç hem de dış çevre ile uyumlu, riskleri yönetebilen ve inovasyonu teşvik eden sürdürülebilir bir yapıda olmalıdır. Bu tez, Endüstri 4.0 çağının özgün özellikleri ve dinamiklerini ele alarak, yükselen ve yıkıcı teknolojilerin yönetiminde strateji ile teknolojinin STY aracılığıyla nasıl bütünleştirileceğine odaklanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda, yükselen ve yıkıcı teknolojilerin STY üzerindeki etkilerini inceleyerek, bu teknolojilerin yönetiminde hangi farklı yaklaşımların uygulanması gerektiği incelenmektedir. Industry 4.0 represents an era of transformation characterized by the integration of technologies such as digitalization, automation, and artificial intelligence into industrial processes, fundamentally altering how businesses compete. In this new era, Strategic Technology Management (STM) requires treating technology as a strategic resource, formulating a technology policy aligned with the organization's business objectives, and effectively implementing this policy. Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDT) are innovations with the potential to entirely transform existing business models, products, and services. For instance, technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, Blockchain, and Augmented Reality (AR) stand out as disruptive technologies in the Industry 4.0 era. The emergence of these technologies profoundly impacts not only operational processes but also strategic decision-making mechanisms. In the Industry 4.0 era, a strategic perspective is critical for businesses to adapt to emerging and disruptive technologies, assess the opportunities and risks these technologies present, and achieve sustainable competitive advantage. The strategic management of emerging and disruptive technologies, unlike traditional approaches, necessitates the development and implementation of proactive, innovation-driven, collaborative, and flexible strategies. These technologies not only enable businesses to gain competitive advantages but also have the potential to fundamentally transform their ways of operation and business models. Therefore, organizations’ strategic approaches to disruptive technologies should be aligned with both internal and external environments, capable of managing risks, and structured to promote innovation in a sustainable manner. This thesis focuses on the unique characteristics and dynamics of the Industry 4.0 era, examining how strategy and technology can be integrated through strategic technology management in managing emerging and disruptive technologies. Within this scope, it explores the impacts of EDT on strategic technology management and investigates the distinct approaches required for their management.
