| dc.description.abstract | Hypoplastic left heart syndrome is almost always fatal in neonates unless it is palliated surgically. The conventional Norwood procedure with a Blalock-Taussig shunt or a Sano modification and a hybrid approach with branch pulmonary artery banding and ductal stenting are common surgical options.
