Item Comparing Software Development Life Cycle Models with Multi-criteria Decision Making Approach(2024 10TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CONTROL, DECISION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES, 2024) Alkis-Bayhan, Nurcan; Ozmen, Esra; Karaman, ErsinVarious software development life cycle models are adopted in the software domain. The selection of appropriate models is the main concern of this research since many factors affect the selection of these models. Characteristics of models, their advantages and disadvantages, in which projects they will be used, and how important the characteristics of the models have been studied in numerous research. In the scope of this research, first, the most preferred software life cycle development models, their features, and the factors that affect their selection were determined. Second, the study aims to compare the influential factors in selecting these models to determine the critical factors and rank them according to their importance level. An Analytical Hierarchy Process study was adopted and performed to achieve this comparison. Lastly, each software life cycle development model was compared to each other, and the important models were revealed in terms of each factor. According to the research results, the most critical factor in the model selection was "Project size."Item Determinants of Unmet Need For Family Planning: Evidence From The 2018 Turkey Demographic and Health Survey(JOURNAL OF BIOSOCIAL SCIENCE, 2024) Okem, Zeynep Guldem; Pekkurnaz, DidemUnmet need for family planning is a valuable concept to indicate the discrepancy between women's fertility preferences and contraceptive use. Unmet need may lead to unintended pregnancies and unsafe abortions. These may result in health deterioration and reduced employment opportunities for women. The 2018 Turkey Demographic and Health Survey report indicated that the estimated unmet need for family planning doubled from 2013 to 2018, returning to the high levels of the late 1990s. Considering this unfavourable change, this study aims to investigate the determinants of unmet need for family planning among married women of reproductive age in Turkey by using the 2018 Turkey Demographic and Health Survey data. Logit model estimations revealed that women who were at older ages, more educated, wealthier, and had more than one child were less likely to have unmet need for family planning. Employment statuses of women and their spouses and place of residence were significantly associated with unmet need. Results emphasised that training and counselling to enhance the use of family planning methods should effectively target young, less educated, and poor women.Item Dissident Women's Organizations as A Counter-Hegemonic Actor in Turkey(TURKISH STUDIES, 2024) Gunduz, Melisa; Gencoglu, FundaCould the Turkish women's movement, which has a strong reaction mechanism, be a constituent actor of counter-hegemony? The main reasons behind this question are the women's movement's deep-rooted history and its openness to combine theory with practice/action. When looked from the Chantal Mouffe and Ernesto Laclau's perspective of radical democracy theory, the women's movement appears to have a considerable potential of deciphering the existing hegemony and articulating the social demands which exclude and are excluded by the present-day hegemony in Turkey. This article tries to understand how women's movement in Turkey conceptualizes the existing power relations that constitute the neoliberal religio-conservative hegemony and how it responds to it.Item Effect of Festival Satisfaction on Destination Loyalty through Destination Overall Image: The Case of Alaçatı Herb Festival(ISTANBUL BUSINESS RESEARCH, 2024-12) Ozkan, Ayse Arslan; Yildiz, ErkanThis study examines the relationships among festival success factors, festival satisfaction, destination image and destination loyalty. Based on the literature review, festival success factors were identified and a model was developed to measure the direct impact of these factors on destination loyalty and the impact of these factors through the overall image of the destination. Data were collected during the 11th Ala & ccedil;at & imath; Herb Festival held between March 24-27, 2022. The data obtained were analyzed with the structural equation modeling. According to the results of the study, the program, festival area, staff, souvenirs, and information dimensions of festival success factors affect festival satisfaction. The effects of convenience and food dimensions on festival satisfaction were statistically insignificant. The festival satisfaction and destination overall image variables have positive effects on destination loyalty, and the festival satisfaction variable has positive effects on the destination overall image. The destination overall images an integral partial mediating role in the relationship between festival satisfaction and destination loyalty.Item Evaluating Efficiency of Cloud Service Providers in Era of Digital Technologies(ANNALS OF OPERATIONS RESEARCH, 2024) Azadi, Majid; Toloo, Mehdi; Ramezani, Fahimeh; Saen, Reza Farzipoor; Hussain, Farookh Khadeer; Farnoudkia, HajarThe rapid growth of advanced technologies such as cloud computing in the Industry 4.0 era has provided numerous advantages. Cloud computing is one of the most significant technologies of Industry 4.0 for sustainable development. Numerous providers have developed various new services, which have become a crucial ingredient of information systems in many organizations. One of the challenges for cloud computing customers is evaluating potential providers. To date, considerable research has been undertaken to solve the problem of evaluating the efficiency of cloud service providers (CSPs). However, no study addresses the efficiency of providers in the context of an entire supply chain, where multiple services interact to achieve a business objective or goal. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a powerful method for efficiency measurement problems. However, the current models ignore undesirable outputs, integer-valued, and stochastic data which can lead to inaccurate results. As such, the primary objective of this paper is to design a decision support system that accurately evaluates the efficiency of multiple CSPs in a supply chain. The current study incorporates undesirable outputs, integer-valued, and stochastic data in a network DEA model for the efficiency measurement of service providers. The results from a case study illustrate the applicability of our new system. The results also show how taking undesirable outputs, integer-valued, and stochastic data into account changes the efficiency of service providers. The system is also able to provide the optimal composition of CSPs to suit a customer's priorities and requirements.Item Explaining The Relationship Between Person-Organization Fit And Entrepreneurial Intention Through Workplace Ostracism And Loneliness(Başkent Üniversitesi İktisadi İdari Bilimler Fakültesi, 2024-03-10) Basar, Ufuk; Karamanlioglu, Almula Umay; Sigri, UnsalPurposeThe entrepreneurial intention of employees refers to the motive of those who work in a company to resign and start their businesses instead of continuing to be wage earners. It is one of the under-studied aspects of entrepreneurship research. Accordingly, this research paper aimed to find out whether perceived person-organization fit was related to the entrepreneurial intentions of employees and whether perceived workplace ostracism and loneliness mediated this process.Design/methodology/approachA cross-sectional study was conducted to achieve the purpose. The data were collected through a questionnaire technique from a total of 572 employees. Participants were from 20 different provinces of Turkey and 27 different sectors. Hypotheses were tested through the structural equation modeling technique.FindingsFindings indicated that a lack of perceived person-organization fit resulted in entrepreneurial intention. Workplace ostracism resulted in workplace loneliness. Workplace ostracism and loneliness significantly mediated the relationship between perceived person-organization fit and entrepreneurial intention.Originality/valueTo the best of authors' knowledge, this study was the first to establish and test the relationships between person-organization fit, entrepreneurial intention, workplace ostracism and loneliness. In this regard, findings can benefit researchers and practitioners in better figuring out why some employees leave their companies to start their businesses while others do not.Item How Psychological Safety Influences Intention to Lave? The Mediation Roles of Networking Ability and Relational Job Crafting(CURRENT PSYCHOLOGY, 2024) Kizrak, Meral; cinar, Esra; Aydin, Esra; Kemikkiran, NurcanDrawing on the Conservation of Resources (COR) theory and the social capital approach, this study aims at examining a serial mediation model to explore why employees intend to leave their organization by taking into consideration psychological safety, networking ability and relational job crafting. We tested our research hypotheses with the data obtained from 218 employees working in different sectors. The results revealed that (1) psychological safety is negatively associated with intention to leave, and (2) networking ability and relational job crafting serially mediate the link between psychological safety and intention to leave. This study presents crucial evidence for organizations to retain and engage employees by justifying the importance and effects of building social relationships in the workplace.Item Influence Of Turkey-Israel Relations On Turkish Jews Businesspeople(ISRAEL AFFAIRS, 2024-01-02) Bilgin, Kivilcim Romya; Mercan, S. On the other hand, the recent process of financialisation of commodities disrupts the dynamics of the commodity market, increasing its correlation with financial markets and raising the risks associated with commodities. In this context, understanding the dynamics of the interconnectivity between green bonds and commodity markets is crucial for risk management and portfolio diversification. This study aims to reveal the multifractal cross-correlations between green bonds and commodities by employing methods from statistical physics. We apply multifractal detrended cross-correlation analysis (MFDCCA) to both return and volatility series, demonstrating that green bonds and commodities exhibit multifractal characteristics. The analysis reveals long-range power-law cross-correlations between these two markets. Specifically, volatility cross-correlations persist across various fluctuations, while return series display persistence in small fluctuations and antipersistence in large fluctuations. These findings carry significant practical implications for hedging and risk diversification purposes.Item Preferences for Intuition and Deliberation in Decision-Making in the Public Sector: Cross-Cultural Comparison of China, Taiwan, the Philippines, and the USA(Başkent Üniversitesi İktisadi İdari Bilimler Fakültesi, 2024-02-19) Svenson, Frithiof; Ermasova, Natalia; Cetin, Fatih; Launer, Markus A.This paper explores hypotheses based on Hofstede's cultural framework showing that decision-makers' culture impacts their implicit choice. Within the scope of the study, data were collected from 340 participants by survey method and analysed. According to the results of the research, there is an inverse and significant relationship between authentic leadership and turnover intention. In addition, while authentic leadership affects psychological safety in the same direction, psychological safety negatively affects turnover intention. In addition to these results, the most important result of our study is that psychological safety plays a mediating role in the effect of authentic leadership on turnover intention. The results of the study showed that creating a transparent work environment based on authentic leadership and establishing basic psychological safety can reduce individual turnover intention.Item The Moderating Role Of Paternalistic Leadership In The Relationship Between Job Satisfaction And Job Stress Among Health Workers In Gaziantep, Turkey(WORK-A JOURNAL OF PREVENTION ASSESSMENT & REHABILITATION, 2024-12-09) Tunc, Ahmet; Yagar, Sema Dokme; Gercek, Emine; Yagar, FedayiBACKGROUND: Adopting an effective leadership style is of critical importance in increasing healthcare efficiency and therefore determining patient satisfaction. For example, although there are many new and effective leadership types today, the paternalistic leadership approach can still play an effective role in developing countries. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to examine the moderating role of paternalistic leadership in the relationship between job satisfaction and job stress. METHODS: A total of 466 healthcare workers completed measures of perceived paternalistic leadership, job stress, and job satisfaction. The research was conducted in the center of Gaziantep, one of the largest cities in Turkey. Regression analysis was used to evaluate the moderate variable. Dawson slope were used to visualize the results. RESULTS: A negative relationship was found between job satisfaction and job stress. Additionally, it has been determined that the perception of paternalistic leadership has a moderating role. It has been observed that as the perception of paternalistic leadership increases, the negative relationship between job satisfaction and job stress decreases. CONCLUSION: It has been concluded that the paternalistic leadership approach can play a critical role in increasing the productivity of healthcare workers and reducing the negative effect of stress on satisfaction. It has been suggested that policies be developed to develop appropriate strategies for creating work environments that will increase employees' perceptions of paternalistic leadership.Item The Retreat From Bıst: Insıghts Into Foreıgn Portfolıo Investment Movements(EKONOMI POLITIKA & FINANS ARASTIRMALARI DERGISI, 2024-11-15) Alp, oezge S. E. Z. G. I. N.; Hazar, Adalet; Babuscu, SenolThe need for rapid growth and development in developing countries increases the demand for capital. As a result, foreign portfolio investments are of great importance, especially in emerging markets, as they help meet capital needs. However, their ability to move quickly also introduces high volatility to financial markets. This study examines changes in the share of foreign portfolio investors in Borsa Istanbul from 2004 to 2023, aiming to provide long-term insights to market participants. Initially, changes in the foreign portfolio investor ratio over time are graphically analyzed alongside the BIST 100 index and the average interest rate of deposits with a maturity of up to 3 months. These changes are evaluated in the context of both global and local developments. The study then investigates the causal relationship between the foreign portfolio investor ratio and the BIST 100 index using a cointegration test and a causality test based on the VECM model. The findings show a one-way causality from the BIST 100 index to the foreign portfolio investor ratio, indicating that foreign investors' market movements are largely influenced by the performance of the BIST 100, and local market dynamics significantly affect foreign capital inflows.Item Understanding Cypriot Youth Views On Peace: Bottom-up Experiences of Everyday Peace(SOUTHEAST EUROPEAN AND BLACK SEA STUDIES, 2024) Dizdaroglu, Cihanouth views and their engagement within practices of everyday peace(building) are paramount to fostering peace, despite the deadlocks at the elite level negotiations.
