Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) is widely preferred to overcome the time ambiguity problem introduced by Fourier Transform. Unfortunately, STFT offers a large value for the multiplication of the time and frequency resolutions. Time resolution degrades when frequency resolution is improved, and vice versa. The need for better methods for their improved time-frequency analysis are still valid. In this work, Maximum Amplitude Sensitive High Resolution Time-Frequency Analysis (MAS-TFA) method is proposed for improved resolution both in time and frequency domains. Based on the well known STFT, MAS-TFA is the fusion of better resolved information using varying window lengths in time. This novel method is comparatively tested using various available methods. Numerical results show that an improvement ratio of %52 is possible.en_US
