Item The Transnational Spread of Turkish Television Soap Operas(2014) Karlidag, Serpil; Bulut, Selda; J-2443-2015Turkish soap operas that are primarily popular in Turkic Republics, Middle East, and the Balkans have in recent years spread to different countries. With the entry into Ukrainian, Pakistani, Russian, and Chinese markets last year, tens of Turkish soap operas now reach their viewers in over 50 countries, and generate export revenues. Short-term return on investment, new communication technologies, Istanbul's ` magnetic nature attracting new talents' and different sociocultural forces and policies play key role in such extensive spread of Turkish TV series. As cultural commodities, TV series, while the images and identities they contain spread, reach at the same time new customers through geographical expansion, and increase the earnings of producers. Yet, the distribution of soap operas is important as much as their production. This requires focusing on the commodities with geo-linguistic and geo-cultural markets rather than companies producing these commodities. Therefore, demand for these non-Western commodities of different geographies points to a contra-flow. In a sense, while new media centers are emerging elsewhere other than the United States of America (USA)-Europe axis, it can be spoken of a regional opposition to the Western hegemony, though there is not an important historical leitmotive or transformation. Thus, in this study, relations between power, cultural commodity, and geography and the spread of Turkish soap operas in different geographies will be discussed with a political economic approach by also drawing attention to the historical commonality.Item Daily Life Activities of Children during the Pandemic(2021) Yersel, Beyhan Ozge; Gunes, Luegen Ceren; Luegen, CerenThe aim of this descriptive study was to examine the views of parents with children between the ages of 3-6 on their children's daily life activities during the pandemic. Müteakiben çalışanların motivasyonları içsel ve dışsal motivasyon araçları kapsamında ölçülerek çalışanların sosyotropik otonomik kişilik özelliklerinin içsel ve dışsal motivasyonlarına bir etkisinin bulunup bulunmadığı belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Abstract Because of the consideration that staff personality characteristics effect their motivation, staff of four and five star hotels, located within the city borders of Ankara, have been given priority while determining their sociotropic-autonomic personality traits. Subsequently, motivations of the said staff have been measured in accordance with both inner and external motivation tools in order to determine whether there is an effect of sociotropical-autonomic personality traits on inner and external motivation, or not. Findings demonstrate that personal success, which can be identified as the subordinate dimension of the autonomic personality traits, effects both inner and external motivation directly and in the positive direction.Item The Effect of The Ethical Leadership on Perceived Organizational Justice and Organizational Identification of The Employees: The Case of Tourism Businesses(Journal of Tourism and Gastronomy Studies. Abstract On the subject of measuring individual performances, which considered to be one of the fundamental functions of the human resources management process, 360 Degree Feedback (360 DF) methods preferred for taking into account more than one aspect while providing opportunities in order to achieve more objective results. It?s been thought that the applicability of the above mentioned method is not investigated enough in the public sector where most of the employments take place in Turkey. The purpose of this study is to probe into the applicability of the 360 DF method on low and mid-level managers in a brigade. Within this framework, differences between the raters(manager, subordinate, peer, client, self-evaluation) have been examined and comparisons made between traditional performance appraisal and 360 DF methods. There are meaningful differences only inner client between two different evaluation methods (Traditional manager evalution-360 DF) within evaluation raters. But there aren?t any meaningful differences between traditional performance appraisal and 360 DF methods as whole method.
