The Child Welfare Agency, formerly known as the Himaye-i Etfal Society in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, was transferred to the Republic and continued its operations under a new framework. This institution played a pioneering role in safeguarding the well-being of children, who represented the future generations. This institution, which Atat & uuml;rk attached special importance to and was headed by the esteemed physician and intellectual Fuat Umay, took necessary measures to protect not only children but also women. This research focuses on the magazine Ana ( Mother ), which was published with the objective of promoting these ideals by The Child Welfare Agency. The study examines the portrayal of women in the magazine and investigates the state's perspective on women during its publication period. The magazine's approach to women being a mother and being woman were examined separately, and its approach to men and fathers was also analyzed to make the perception of women more comprehensive. Ana na was also examined in terms of the role of the new woman in the nation-state building for the creation of the new society. In this research, both text analysis and visual data analysis were used as methods.
