Item The Effects of Using Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Logistics Service Production: An Application in 3pls and 4pls(2023) Caglar, Macide Berna; Taskin, Bihter KaragozBackground: The purpose of this study is to investigate how artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic awareness, perceived organizational support, and competitive psychological climate approaches relate to turnover intention. In the literature, studies on robotic awareness and turnover intention have been undertaken in a variety of industries. In this respect, this study aims to address the absence in the literature of research on logistics services providers. This study aims to help businesses understand how to retain employees and foster a more inclusive and supportive workplace. Methods: The study utilizes survey information from 100 senior managers in the operations function of logistics service providers. The outcomes are obtained by modeling structural equations with SmartPLS. Data from the survey were gathered using the snowball sampling technique. Results: The results of the research reveal the effect of artificial intelligence and robotic awareness on competitive psychological and turnover intention. Conclusions: The study aims to explore the role of a competitive psychological climate and organizational support in mediating the relationship between AI and robotics awareness and turnover intention. We identify that awareness of AI and robotics has a considerable, favorable effect on the psychological climate of competition and turnover intention. We also find that the competitive psychological atmosphere has a substantial, favorable effect on turnover intention. In addition, organizational support has been demonstrated to have a substantial, favorable effect on turnover intention. However, it was not possible to identify the mediating role of organizational support and the psychological environment of competition in moderating the association between awareness of AI and robotics and turnover intention. On the basis of the research's findings, suggestions were made.Item Genome composition analysis of multipartite BNYVV reveals the occurrence of genetic re-assortment in the isolates of Asia Minor and Thrace(2020) Ozmen, Canan Yuksel; Khabbazi, Saber Delpasand; Khabbazi, Afsaneh Delpasand; Gurel, Songul; Kaya, Riza; Oguz, Muhammet Cagri; Turan, Ferzat; Rezaei, Fereshteh; Kibar, Umut; Gurel, Ekrem; Ergul, Ali; 32139777Beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV) is the cause of rhizomania, an important disease of sugar beet around the world. The multipartite genome of the BNYVV contains four or five single-stranded RNA that has been used to characterize the virus. Understanding genome composition of the virus not only determines the degree of pathogenicity but also is required to development of resistant varieties of sugar beet. Resistance to rhizomania has been conferred to sugar beet varieties by conventional breeding methods or modern genome engineering tools. However, over time, viruses undergo genetic alterations and develop new variants to break crop resistance. Here, we report the occurrence of genetic reassortment and emergence of new variants of BNYVV among the isolates of Thrace and Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey). Our findings indicate that the isolates harbor European A-type RNA-2 and RNA-3, nevertheless, RNA-5 is closely related to East Asian J-type. Furthermore, RNA-1 and RNA-4 are either derived from A, B, and P-types or a mixture of them. The RNA-5 factor which enhance the pathogenicity, is rarely found in the isolates studied (20%). The creation of new variants of the virus emphasizes the necessity to develop new generation of resistant crops. We anticipate that these findings will be useful for future genetic characterization and evolutionary studies of BNYVV, as well as for developing sustainable strategies for the control of this destructive disease.Item The Effects of Audience's Attitudes on Actor, Character, Movie and Product Placement on the Brand Attitude(2020) Ulker-Demirel, Elif; Yildiz, ErkanIn recent years, there has been a shift in consumers' media consumption preferences from traditional to digital platforms. Adblocker applications used by consumers who do not want to be exposed to advertising and the digital platforms that offer ad-free content make it increasingly difficult for brands to reach audiences in a highly saturated advertising environment. In this environment, product placement remains essential in reaching the target audiences due to the advantages it offers to brands compared to traditional advertisements. The aim of this study, being distinctly different from previous research, is to test the effects of attitude toward actor and character on attitude toward movies, product placement, and brand. Furthermore, it is aimed to investigate the serial mediating effect between these attitudinal constructs. The data obtained from 300 participants were analyzed with SmartPLS 3.2.8 using partial least squares path analysis (PLS-SEM). As a result, the attitude toward the actor, character, and movie has direct and indirect effects on product placement and attitude toward the brand. Furthermore, the effect of the attitude toward movies and product placement has a serial mediating effect on the relationship between the attitude toward the actor, the character and the brand.Item Covering the More Visible Region by Electrochemical Copolymerization of Carbazole and Benzothiadiazole Based Donor-Acceptor Type Monomers(2019) Cansu-Ergun, Emine Gul; 0000-0002-3941-4345; I-7385-2017An electrochromic copolymer film of 2-(3,3-dihexyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxepin-6-yl)-7-(3,3-dihexyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxepin-8-yl)-9H-carbazole (M1) and 4,7-bis(thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole (M2) was prepared via electrochemical technique. The copolymerization was performed with one to one monomer feed ratio. Electrochemical and optical properties of the resulting copolymer film (P3) and the homopolymer films of M1 and M2 (P1 and P2) were investigated by using cyclic voltammetry and UV-Vis spectrometry techniques, and the corresponding results were compared. Incorporation of M1 and M2 into copolymer matrix was clearly observed on the resulting cyclic voltammograms and UV-Vis spectra. P3 covered the visible regions coming from both P1 and P2, and exhibited a neutral state darker color than those of homopolymers. P3 film was found to have a multichromic behavior, appearing as brown in its neutral state while changing its color upon oxidation to dark-gray (at about 0.3 V), to blue (at about 0.6 V) and finally to grayish cyan (beyond 0.9 V), with a corresponding optical band gap of 1.65 eV.Item Pulse frequency fluctuations of magnetars(2019) Cerri-Serim, D.; Serim, M. M.; Sahiner, S.; Inam, S.C.; Baykal, A.; 0000-0003-0820-9186Using RXTE, Chandra, XMM-Newton and Swift observations, we construct the power spectra and torque noise strengths of magnetars for the first time. For some of the sources, on time-scales of months to years, we measure strong red noise that might be a consequence of their outbursts. We compare the noise strengths of magnetars with those of radio pulsars by investigating the possible correlations of noise strength with spin-down rate, magnetic field and age. Using these correlations, we find that the noise strengths of magnetars obey similar trends as radio pulsars. However, we do not find any correlation between noise strength and X-ray luminosity, a correlation that has been seen in accretion-powered pulsars. Our findings suggest that the noise behaviour of magnetars resembles that of radio pulsars, but magnetars possess higher noise levels likely because of their stronger magnetic fields.Item Calibration transfer in temperature modulated gas sensor arrays(2016) Fernandez, L.; Güney, S.; Gutierrez-Galvez, A.; Marco, S.Shifts in working temperature are an important issue that prevents the successful transfer of calibration models from one chemical instrument to another. This effect is of special relevance when working with gas sensor arrays modulated in temperature. In this paper, we study the use of multivariate techniques to transfer the calibration model from a temperature modulated gas sensor array to another when a global change of temperature occurs. To do so, we built 12 identical master sensor arrays composed of three different types of commercial Figaro sensors and acquired a dataset of sensor responses to three pure substances (ethanol, acetone and butanone) dosed at 7 concentrations. The master arrays are then shifted in temperature (from -50 to 50 degrees C, Delta T = 10 degrees C) and considered as slave arrays. Data correction is performed for an increasing number of transfer samples with 4 different calibration transfer techniques: Direct Standardization, Piece-wise Direct Standardization, Orthogonal Signal Correction and Generalized Least Squares Weighting. In order to evaluate the performance of the calibration transfer, we compare the Root Mean Square Error of Prediction (RMSEP) of master and slave arrays, for each instrument correction. Best results are obtained from Piece-wise Direct standardization, which exhibits the lower RMSEP values after correction for the smaller number of transfer samples. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. They have mostly androgenetic monospermic genomes with all the chromosomes originating from a haploid sperm and no maternal chromosomes. Androgenetic complete hydatidiform moles were described in 1977, but how they occur has remained an open question. We identified bi-allelic deleterious mutations in MEI1, TOP6BL/C11orf80, and REC114, with roles in meiotic double-strand breaks formation in women with recurrent androgenetic complete hydatidiform moles. We investigated the occurrence of androgenesis in Mei1-deficient female mice and discovered that 8% of their oocytes lose all their chromosomes by extruding them with the spindles into the first polar body. We demonstrate that Mei1−/− oocytes are capable of fertilization and 5% produce androgenetic zygotes. Thus, we uncover a meiotic abnormality in mammals and a mechanism for the genesis of androgenetic zygotes that is the extrusion of all maternal chromosomes and their spindles into the first polar body. © 2018 American Society of Human GeneticsItem Fetal HLA-G alleles and their effect on miscarriage(2018) Kubat, Gozde; Koc, Altug; Kirbiyik, Ozgur; Kutbay, Yasar B.; Ozyilmaz, Berk; Ozdemir, Taha R.; Kaya, Ozge Ozer; Koc, Zeynep Peker; 29809322Background. Immunosuppression at the feto-maternal interface is crucial for a successful pregnancy outcome. Human leukocyte antigen-G (HLA-G) seems to be a major contributor to fetal tolerance. The HLA-G expression is seen in cytotrophoblasts and in maternal blood. Fetal HLA-G acts on decidual antigen-presenting cells (APCs), natural killers (NKs) and T cells. Recent findings revealed that defects in placentation and their consequences are associated with maternal HLA-G variants and their expression levels. Objectives. The objective of this article is to investigate the relationship between fetal HLA-G alleles and miscarriage, which has not been investigated to date. Material and methods. The present study includes 204 recurrent miscarriage (RM) cases who were admitted to our clinic between 2012 and 2016. Twenty-eight miscarriage products without maternal cell contamination and any known pathology were analyzed by HLA-G typing. In addition, 3' untranslated region (UTR) 14-base pair (bp) insertion/deletion polymorphism was also investigated by Sanger sequencing. Results. For our population, the most frequent HLA-G type was G*01:01, both in the study group (30.3%) and in the control group (47%). The study revealed that the G*01:04 allele was significantly associated with miscarriage (p = 0.007). The 3' UTR 14bp deletion was more frequent in the miscarriage group, but there was no significant correlation. Conclusions. HLA-G alleles seem to be related with miscarriage and should be considered in RM cases.Item THE APPROACH OF ATATURK TO RELATIONS BETWEEN TURKEY AND ALBANIA BEFORE THE PROCLAMATION OF MONARCHY, IN THE LIGHT OF THE DIARIES OF RAUF FICO, THE MINISTER PLENIPOTENTIARY OF ANKARA(2018) Ozca, HalilThe diaries of RaufFico, Albanian Minister Plenipotentiary to Ankara, gives a lot of useful information about Albania-Turkey relations that had not been stumbled across in the literature until today. The aim of this study is to point out Atatiirk's views on relations between Albania and Turkey, Albania and Italy, as well as his suggestions to Albanian envoy in Ankara about how to overcome the Albanian dependency on Italy. The research is based on the diaries of Fico, Albanian Minister Plenipotentiary to Ankara. The study is limited with focusing on the Italian factor in Albania's relations with Turkey rather than examining all aspects of the relationship between the two independent countries. Fico had had formal education in the Ottoman Empire and occupied bureaucratic posts such as being provincial governor and following independence of Albania started to work for Albanian government as an important diplomat. Therefore, his diaries provide us a plenty of information on the question of Albania's relations with Turkey as well as with Italy, particularly between 1925 and 1928 during which there had been a Republican regime in Albania. In fact, Fico's diaries give perfect information about close relations between Turkey and Albania and the importance given by Mustafa Kemal Atatiirk on these relations at bilateral level, at least until the destruction of the Republican regime by Ahmet Zogu who would proclaim himself as the King of Albania in 1928. The content of the Fico's diaries are very rich in a way that they consist problems of Orthodox Albanians in Istanbul, positions of Albanians in Kosovo, the exchange of Albanian Chams, reforms in Turkey, assassination attempt to Atatirk in izmir and main themes in Nutuk. It should be kept in mind that the scope of this study is confined, first, to suggestions of Ataturk to the Albanian government regarding getting rid of dependency on Italy, and second, to his foresight about Italy's position towards Albania and Turkey. In this respect, the Fico's diaries give invaluable information on all these subjects elaborated in this paper.
