A.; Dogan, N. U.; Gursu, T.; Ayhan, A.; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2047-9317; 27048103; HGU-5809-2022; AAJ-5802-2021Uterine clear cell carcinoma (UCC) is an aggressive variant of endometrial cancer. Comprehensive surgical staging is strongly recommended for these patients as an upstaging to Stage 3-4 occur in 35-50% of patients. Stage 1A (no myometrial invasion) according to FIGO 1988 staging system are seen very rarely in patients. In most of the studies, regarding adjuvant treatment, clear cell carcinoma were all evaluated with papillary serous carcinoma (PSC). Studies on clear cell histology are low in number and also a limited number of patients were included. Proportion of patients with complete surgical staging, number of lymph nodes excised, and rate of omentectomy were all heterogenous and were not presented uniformly in studies. There is no concensus regarding adjuvant treatment for Stage 1A patients. Some authors suggest only close observation. Vaginal brachytherapy is also strongly recommended in some studies of this review. Multi-institutional studies with homogenous patient characteristics with homogeneous surgery is warranted.Item Analysis of Bcl-2, Pten, P53 and Ki-67 Expressions in Endometrial Cancer Arising from Endometrial Polyp: Preliminary Results(2017) Atasoy, L.; Kuscu, U. A.; Tohma, Y. A.; Kuscu, E.; Ozen, O.; Ayhan, A.Objective: To compare the expression of the proliferation marker Ki-67, the antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2, and the tumor suppressor genes p53 and PTEN between endometrial cancer arising from endometrial polyp and benign endometrial polyps. Materials and Methods: The study was performed retrospectively in 40 patients treated at the present institution between 2006-2011. A total of 20 cases that had endometrial cancer arising from endometrial polyp that met study criteria were included consecutively in the study. For each malign case, one case that had a benign endometrial polyp diagnosed at hysterectomy specimen was included in the study. Results: The Ki-67 score was significantly higher in endometrial cancer arising from endometrial polyp group in comparison to the benign polyps (p < 0.05). However, the Bcl-2 expression was significantly lower in the endometrial cancer arising from endometrial polyp when compared to the benign polyps (p < 0.05). PTEN and p53 expressions were not different between groups (p > 0.05). in patients with endometrial cancer, Ki-67, Bcl-2, PTEN, and p53 expressions were not different among histological type, stage, grade, myometrial invasion, polyp size, and lymphovascular space invasion, with an exception of p53. p53 expression was significantly increased in higher grade tumors (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The results of the present study indicate that there is an inhibition of apoptosis and a decrease in proliferation in benign endometrial polyps. Possibly, at carcinogenesis step of endometrial cancer developed from benign polyp, other additional mutations cause a reverse effect and they increase proliferation and prevent the apoptosis inhibition.Item The Annual Recurrence Risk Model for Tailored Surveillance Strategy in Cervical Cancer Patients(2021) Cibula, D. This study sought to evaluate the hemodynamic changes of and to analyze the effects of coronary artery disease (CAD) as well as its risk factors on hemodynamic parameters during the reperfusion phase (RP) in adult living donor liver transplantation (ALDLT). Patients and Methods. This single-center retrospective study evaluated 154 adult patients being assessed from January 2001 to December 2013 for orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT). The patients were divided into separate groups according to the presence or absence of CAD and its risk factors, including diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, smoking, sex, and age. The hemodynamic parameters were noted during the RP with respect to the patient files. The comparison of the groups and the effects of cardiovascular problems on hemodynamic parameters were statistically analyzed. Results. A decrease of more than 20% in systolic arterial pressure was seen in 16 (16.7%), 7 (43.8%), and 17 (40.5%) patients without CAD, with CAD, and with its high risk factors (>2), respectively (P < .05). Moreover, diastolic hypotension was seen in 59 (38.3%) patients during RP; of those, 10 (62.5%) had CAD and 19 (45.2%) had CAD high-risk factors. The decline in both systolic and diastolic arterial pressure was significantly correlated with the increased number of risk factors (P < .05). Conclusions. RP in ALDLT remains an issue not only for the surgeons but also for the anesthesiologists. Clinicians should be aware of CAD and its risk factors before OLT and successful management of such problems are mandatory for hemodynamic stability during this formidable process.Item Evaluation of HPV Positivity by Immunohistochemistry in Cervical Biopsies with A Diagnosis of Ascus Cytologically(2014) Demiralay, E.; Desteli, G.
