Understanding the reasons for geographic concentration of economic activities has been a subject of study for a long time, and different aspects of the issue have attracted the attention of many scholars from various disciplines, ranging from sociology to economics. In recent years, the management literature as well is becoming richer in respect of studies on this subject.
