Her iki gruptaki bireylerin tanımlayıcı özellikleri kaydedildi. COVID-19 geçiren bireylerin kuadriseps femoris kas kuvveti (p=0,000), biseps braki kas kuvveti (p=0,000), mekik testi (p=0,000), şınav testi (p=0,000), lateral köprü testi (p=0,000), modifiye “Biering-Sorensen” testi (p=0,000), gövde fleksiyon testi (p=0,000), “prone bridge” testi (p=0,000), otur uzan testi (p=0,011), sırt kaşıma testi (p=0,004), tek bacak üzerinde durma (sağ p=0,004; sol p=0,002) ve fonksiyonel uzanma testi (p=0,034) değerleri sağlıklı gruptan anlamlı düzeyde düşük bulundu.
The aim of the study was to evaluate muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility, balance, and fatigue in individuals who suffer COVID-19 and compare them with healthy individuals. A total of 118 individuals, aged 20-30 years, had mild or moderate COVID-19 at least three months, 59 individuals who received home isolation and medication, and 59 healthy individuals (control) were included in the study. The descriptive characteristics of the individuals were recorded. The physical activity level of the individuals was determined by the Short Form of International Physical Activity Questionnaire. The strength of knee extension and elbow flexion were evaluated with a dynamometer, and functional trunk strength was evaluated with sit-ups and push-ups tests. Lateral bridge test, modified Biering-Sorensen test, trunk flexors endurance test, and prone bridge test were used to evaluate muscle endurance. Sit and reach test and back scratch test were performed to evaluate flexibility. The one-leg stance test and the functional reach test were used to evaluate static and dynamic balance. The level of fatigue experienced by individuals during walking and running was scored according to the Modified Borg Scale. The quadriceps femoris muscle strength (p=0.000), biceps brachii muscle strength (p=0.000), sit-up test (p=0.000), push-up test (p=0.000), lateral bridge test (p=0.000), modified “Biering-Sorensen” test (p=0.000), trunk flexion test (p=0.000), “prone bridge” test (p=0.000), sit and reach test (p=0.011), back scratch test (p=0.004), standing on one leg (right p=0.004; left p=0.002) and functional reach test (p=0.034) values were found to be significantly lower than the healthy group. There was no difference between the two groups in terms of static balance values with eyes closed only (right p=0.765; left p=0.508). In addition, it was observed that the fatigue levels of individuals with COVID-19 during walking and running were higher than those of healthy individuals (p=0.000; p=0.005, respectively). The results of the study were the same as having mild or moderate COVID-19 in young adult individuals aged 20-30 years. The results of the study show that muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance are adversely affected in young adult individuals between the ages of 20-30 and had mild or moderate COVID-19 compared to individuals of the same age. We suggest physiotherapy programs should be planned for individuals of all ages to reduce the negative effects of COVID-19 on physical fitness and increase physical performance.
