Başkent Üniversitesi öğrencilerinin sosyal sorumluluk projelerinde yer alma durumu
Özet
Bu araştırmada, Başkent Üniversitesi sosyal bilimler alanında eğitim gören
öğrencilerinin sosyal sorumluluk projelerinde yer alma durumu incelenmiştir. Bu
bağlamda, ilgili bölümlerden toplamda 213 öğrenci örneklem olarak çalışmaya dahil
edilmiştir. Örneklem dahilinde, İletişim, Fen Edebiyat, İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler ve Sağlık
Bilimleri Fakülteleri yer almıştır.
Araştırmada elde edilen verilere göre, öğrencilerin %38,0’ı haftada 1-2 saat sosyal
sorumluk faaliyetlerine vakit ayırdığını ifade ederken %23,9’u sosyal sorumluluk
faaliyetlerine hiç vakit ayırmadığını ifade etmiştir. Haftada 1-2 saat sosyal sorumluluk
faaliyetlerine vakit ayırdığını söyleyen katılımcıların %48,15’i fen edebiyat fakültesinde
okumaktadır. Sosyal sorumluluk faaliyetlerine haftada 1-2 saat vakit ayırdığını aktaranların
%39,51’i 4. sınıfta okurken %27,16’sı 3. sınıf öğrencisidir. Kadınlar, erkeklere göre sosyal
sorumluluk faaliyetlerine daha fazla zaman ayırdıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Haftada 1-2 saat
sosyal sorumluluk faaliyetlerine zaman ayırdığını söyleyenlerin %62,96’sı 21-23 yaş
grubundadır. Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi öğrencilerinin %60,98’i daha önce sosyal
sorumluluk projelerine katıldığını belirtmişlerdir. Sosyal sorumluluk projelerine en yüksek
oranda katılım Sosyal Hizmet bölümünde okuyanlar arasındadır. Sosyal Hizmet
bölümünde okuduğunu ifade edenlerin %62,5’i daha önce sosyal sorumluluk projesinde
yer aldığını aktarmışlardır. Sosyal Hizmet bölümünde eğitim görenlerin 9'u daha önce
kendilerinin proje ürettiğini belirtmişlerdir. Sosyal Hizmet bölümünde okuyanların %55’i
(22 kişi) sosyal sorumluluk projelerine hem maddi hem manevi katkı sağladığını
aktarmışlardır. Sosyal Hizmet Bölümünde okuyanların %42’si (17 kişi) üniversitede üye
oldukları topluluk olduğunu söylemişlerdir. Başkent Üniversitesi bünyesinde sosyal
sorumluluk projelerine katılım durumları incelendiğinde Sosyal Hizmet bölümü
öğrencilerinin (%57,50) ön plana çıktığı görülmüştür.
In this study, the status of participation in social responsibility projects of Başkent
University studying in the field of social sciences was examined. In this context, 213
students from the related departments were included in the study. Within the sample there
are Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Health Science, Science and Literature, Faculty
of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
According to the data obtained in the study, 38.0% of students stated that they spend
1-2 hours a week on social responsibility activities, while 23.9% stated that they do not
spend any time on social responsibility activities. 48.15% of the participants who stated
that they spend time in social responsibility activities for 1-2 hours per week studying in
Faculty of Science and Literature. 39.51% of those who stated that they spend 1-2 hours
per week in social responsibility activities are in 4th grade while 27.16% are 3rd grade
students. Women stated that they devote more time to social responsibility activities than
men. 62.96% of those who stated that they devote time to social responsibility activities 1-
2 hours per week are in the 21-23 age group. 60.98% of the students of the Faculty of
Health Sciences stated that they have previously participated in social responsibility
projects. The highest level of participation in social responsibility projects is among those
who study in Social Work. 62.5% of those who stated that they are studying in the social
work department stated that they had previously taken part in the social responsibility
project. Nine of those who were educated in Social Work department stated that they
produced projects before. 55% (22 people) of those who are studying in Social Work stated
that they contributed both financially and morally to social responsibility projects. 42% (17
people) of the student in Social Work Department stated that they are members of the
university student groups. When the social responsibility projects of Başkent University
were examined, it was seen that the students of Social Work Department (57.50%) came to
the forefront.
